More About Jill

Background

For 18 years, I worked in the corporate world as a highly skilled, experienced and sought after facilitator, group leader/trainer and coach.

I have a background in big corporate, working for 6 years for accounting and advisory giant, Deloitte. I held key consulting roles on multi-phase, multi-million dollars IT projects all around Australia. I also held a global role as a subject matter expert, supporting practitioners and clients in project implementation.

I worked with a wide range of organizations and across different industries including finance and banking, professional services, law, IT and software, universities and arts councils.  My clients were a veritable who’s who of the corporate world including Macquarie Bank, KPMG, Morgan Stanley, IBM and the Australia Council.

As the Director and Founder of my own firm, I facilitated workshops in Australia, New Zealand, the Asian region and the United States.  My workshops were often rated the most powerful and impactful at conference events.

My most successful client engagement was the design and delivery of a unique Leadership Development program for senior managers and directors for a global professional services firm.  This program ran for over 5 years and was booked out 12 months in advance by a hard-to-impress audience who rated it the most popular program out of a curriculum of nearly 100 programs.

Jill in action as a facilitator

As a change agent and facilitator, my focus was on the relationships between the formal and informal, the head and the heart, the seen and the unseen – my work was aimed at bringing the nexus between the two into clearer focus. My success was evidenced by the number of referrals, requests for repeat sessions and in the feedback from individual clients.

My interest and focus in corporate workshops was always on what was most effective and useful – not on plying one methodology or school of thought.  My particular field of excellence was in blending methods and modalities to create unique learning experiences that truly shifted thinking.

Whether it is in a live workshop setting or an online learning environment, the feedback I consistently received was that I engage people in an expressive and energetic way that leads to real shifts in how people think, feel and behave.   I constantly receive feedback that I create safe, stimulating and open learning spaces that motivate.

Personal

I live on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland with loved ones of both the human and furry variety, and I love to travel. I lived in Sydney for 13 years, a city I adore, and one I thought it would take a crowbar to remove me from. I still visit there as often as I can.

I have travelled extensively in Asia and North America, two parts of the world that intrigue me and have me wanting to go back time and again to visit places both familiar and new.  I’d love to live in San Francisco and New York City, perhaps only for a short time – but both those cities enthrall me and I love being in them and return as often as time and finances permit.

I have also visited quite a few other countries including South Africa (that’s me, left, at Stellenbosch’s Cheetah Reserve near Capetown), England (that’s me, right, in London’s West End with the animal print car), Ireland, France and Holland.

I love stories of all kinds – told in movies, books, in person.  I am often reading more than one book at a time (usually one fiction, the other non-fiction).  I have a large library of movies on DVD and have watched many of them over and over.  Double or triple features on a lazy Sunday afternoon are one of my favourite things to do.  I am a good listener and love hearing people’s stories; I consider it an honour when someone shares something significant about themselves and their lives with me.

I love animals and have been fortunate enough to have grown up with pets.  I love cats especially and am fortunate enough right now to be in service to a particularly beautiful feline princess who has graced us with her presence since she was a kitten (she’s now 12 years old).

I wear one perfume only, Clinique’s Aromatics Elixir, and have a well developed and long standing devotion to it.  I feel like it’s “me”.

I’m a loyal friend.  I feel things deeply.  I love to sing although I’m not very good at it.  I played the piano every day for ten years from the age of 6 to 16. I’m very comfortable standing in front of a group, talking, sharing, facilitating.  Some people find me funny (they’re often the ones I love the most).

I love clothes and have done so for as long as I can remember.  My Barbie dolls had large wardrobes (and fascinating, often tortured, lives).  This site represents so much of what I love and am curious and enthusiastic about. I’m glad you visited.
